Kanye West & "Alien Ye" Alter Ego Heading To Africa To Finish "Yandhi"

Los Angeles, CA – After Kim Kardashian dropped the news Kanye West’s album Yandhi isn’t arriving until November 23, TMZ caught up with the G.O.O.D. Music boss to get some answers.

During an episode of TMZ Live, the MAGA hat-wearing YE said he was heading to Africa to finish the album. Despite announcing the original release date as September 29, he admitted he scrapped it because he hand’t finished recording it.

“I didn’t finish it,” Kanye says. “A person from our management staff had suggested because the album is so good … I started incorporating sounds that you’ve never heard before and pushing and having concepts that people don’t talk about. We have concepts talking about body-shaming and women being looked down upon for how many people that they slept with — it’s just a full YE album.”

“Those five albums that I dropped earlier were like superhero rehabilitation and now the alien YE is like fully back in mode, off of medication, working out, breathing as much fresh air as possible, thinking, doing, being himself,” he continues. “When I say being myself, that doesn’t mean I’m being Donald Trump. It means I’m being me and I’m punk and I can wear whatever I want ’cause I’m a god. This t-shirt don’t make me. This is how I look at this time on this planet. Other times, maybe had a robe on. Next time, maybe it’s like a full electrical suit.”

From there, YE explains why he chose Africa as the place to finalize Yandhi.

“This is the type of energy we’re putting into the album, so we’re going to Africa in two weeks to record,” he continues. “I felt this energy when I was in Chicago. I felt the roots. We have to go to what is known as Africa. I just need to go and find out what it’s really called and just really grab the soil and be and cook food.

“[I want to] have the mic in the open so you can hear nature while we’re recording. We’re going to bring out the album on what is known as Black Friday. I’m so happy about what is happening.”

While fans watched him rap “I Love It” dressed as a giant Perrier bottle on Saturday Night Live over the weekend, many assumed the Yandhi release would follow. Needless to say, Twitter exploded with anger when it didn’t materialize.

YE’s move is reminiscent of Dave Chappelle’s escape to Africa in 2005, something he addressed in a January interview with CBS News.

“[I was scared of] Fame, yeah, but not so much that I get on a plane to Africa,” he said. “Fame is not that kind of scary. But it is – fame is a horrifying concept when it’s aimed at you, you know?” Chappelle said. “At the end of the day, it’s so – you don’t have that much control over it. You just try to conduct yourself as best you can.”
